Back in the day, I worked a regular 9-to-5 — sitting at a desk, staring at spreadsheets, wondering why the weekends disappeared so fast.

One Saturday, I decided I’d surprise my wife by assembling a store-bought table we’d ordered online. Two hours in, the screws were stripped, the legs didn’t line up, and I’d nearly thrown a wrench through the drywall.

That night, I thought:

Turns out, it was hard. I made every mistake in the book — crooked cuts, cracked boards, uneven joints. But I didn’t stop. I kept going. And every mistake taught me something.

I learned the right way to measure. The tools worth investing in. How to choose wood that wouldn’t warp in a week. How to build things that actually last.

Fast forward a few years and a whole lot of sawdust later...

I’ve built everything from custom furniture to backyard sheds. Not because I’m some master craftsman — but because I stuck with it, learned from my screw-ups, and figured out what actually works.

I started Jack’s Woodworks because I remember what it felt like to be a beginner — confused, frustrated, and thinking I needed $5,000 worth of tools just to get started.

Now I show regular folks how to:

• Build awesome stuff without fancy equipment

• Avoid the rookie mistakes I made early on

• Create things you’re proud of — even if you’ve never picked up a saw before
